Daily Writing Check-in: January 6, 2016

Words/Time:  50 minutes revising “The Triangle.” I finished the draft and worked on the formatting a bit. Now I’m turning my attention to getting the synopsis and sample chapters of “Pithea” sent off to a few publishers to start with. After doing some more research, I started to question the way I’d written the synopsis. However, I don’t see that there would be an easy way to change it, so I’m just going with what I have for now. I don’t want to start stressing myself over whether it’s right or not this early in the process. I have plenty of time for that.

    • Definitely true. Though when I was forced to take the synopsis that already was difficult to write and make it even shorter for another submission, I realized ways I could possibly have trimmed the fat on that first one, and included a little more of what I was sad to have to leave out. I know it’s a learning process, and I’m not complaining. But of course I’m frustrated that the first submission maybe wasn’t as good as it could have been.

At this point, I’ll be honest, the only way I’m keeping my sanity is reminding myself every day that God is in control. If I’m meant to be published, he’ll guide me to where, who, how, etc. If I’m not, then there’s no point stressing over it in the first place.

      • Learning to trust in God’s guiding hand is a lesson well learned. I know that my passion comes from Him and that He will help me in His own way. I do love to hear about other’s faith in these matters. Thank you for sharing it with me 🙂
